This book is a combination of Susan Sontag’s “On Photography” and an interview of Chinese photographer Zhang Ke Chun. “On Photography” sees our capitalist society through the lens of photography as a medium. In the last chapter of the publication, we see a side by side com- position between the interview and the primary text. This creates a contrast between the western view of photography in China and a Chinese view of photography through Zhang Ke Chun.
